DAY 1 • USA – BOGOTA

After your international flight, you’ll arrive in Bogota to start your adventure effortlessly in Colombia. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the centrally located Rosales neighborhood. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure in the energetic capital.

DAY 2 • BOGOTA

Today you and your guide will explore Bogota, the city that is at the center of the country’s growth and progress. Enjoy breathtaking views as you take a cable car to the city’s highest point, Monserrate. Then, wander through the colorful cobblestone streets of the Candelaria neighborhood, and learn about the history and legends of indigenous gold at the Gold Museum.

DAY 3 • BOGOTA – BUCARAMANGA – BARICHARA

Take a morning flight from Bogota to Bucaramanga and meet your local, private guide upon arrival. Make your way through this mountainous region and enjoy lunch, before your exciting cable car ride across the Chicamocha Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. Continue on to the pueblo nicknamed the prettiest little town in Colombia, Barichara.

To add even more adventure, take a propeller plane from Bucaramanga to Barichara instead.

DAY 4 • BARICHARA & GUANE VILLAGE

Start your day with a beautiful hike on part of the camino real through the lush green countryside to Guane Village.Then enjoy your guided excursion of picturesque Barichara, where you’ll feel like you’re in a movie as you wander through the cobblestone streets lined with colonial houses covered in flowers. Finally, end the day with a visit to a local artisans workshop where you’ll get a sneak peak into pueblo life.

DAY 5 • CHICAMOCHA CANYON

Experience the jaw dropping Chicamocha Canyon today, second in size only to the Grand Canyon. Take in massive canyon views as you hike your way down to a small village nestled at the bottom, before returning to Barichara for the evening.

DAY 6 • BARICHARA – BUCARAMANGA – SANTA MARTA – CARRIBEAN COAST

Make your way to Bucaramanga for your onward flight to Santa Marta, where you’ll continue on with your private guide to Villa Playa Los Naranjos. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure at your hidden beach getaway, overlooking the point where a flowing river meets the Caribbean sea, all with the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

To add a more active component, try a paragliding excursion en route to Bucaramanga.

DAY 7 • TAYRONA NATIONAL PARK

Discover some of the most beautiful beaches in the world during your guided excursion of Tayrona National Park. Hike through wild palm trees and fallen coconuts before arriving at Arrecifes, Arenilla, La Piscina, and Cabo San Juan del Guia, tropical beaches hidden away by untouched jungles.

Enjoy the day at your leisure to relax at your accommodations. Soak in the Caribbean sun at the pool or the nearby beaches. 

If you’d like more time at Parque Tayrona, add another beach day at Playa Cristal. If you’d like more cultural immersion, add an excursion to a local indigenous village, Perico Aguao.

DAY 9 • Caribbean COAST – CARTAGENA

Embark on your 4 hour journey west towards Cartagena, where upon arrival you can enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Explore the beautiful historic center of Cartagena, the walled city. These walls protected Cartagena from pirates and invasions for hundreds of years, and now are a UNESCO site filled with charming colonial architecture and lively plazas, all with the backdrop of the sparkling Caribbean sea. In the afternoon, indulge yourself with a rum tasting, where a professional costeño bartender will teach you about the history of rum and different Colombian varieties.

DAY 11 • LA BOQUILLA

Immerse yourself in costeño culture during your day’s visit to the fishing village, La Boquilla. Canoe through mangroves while learning about this important ecosystem. Continue on to a foundation in town where you’ll participate in an artisanal craft workshop with local women.

If you’d like more beach time instead, enjoy a full day excursion on a private boat in the tropical Rosario Islands.

Today you will be brought to the airport for your international flight home.
