At midday stop for a private buffet of delicious local cuisine in the middle of the salt flats, before continuing deep into the desert of salt on one of the hundreds of routes across the flats. This museum was created by a native local entrepreneur who hoped to chronicle the cultures of the salt flat communities. Afterwards, bicycle into the north of the flats, stopping to see the Coquesa Mummies, preserved by the dry air since 1200 BC. On this side there are several small communities, giving you the chance to interact with llama shepherds and quinoa farmers.
